Introduction to Spirulina:
Spirulina is 100% natural and a highly nutritious micro salt water plant. It was discovered in South American and Africa in natural alkaline lakes. This spiral shaped algae is a rich source for many nutrients. For a long time (centuries) this algae has constituted a significant part of the diet of many communities. Since the 1970’s, Spirulina has been well known and widely used as a dietary supplement in some countries.Spirulina contains a wide spectrum of nutrients that include proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins,minerals, -carotene and super antioxidants apart from trace elements. The protein content is as high as 60-70% of its dry weight. Spirulina has a high concentration of vitamins and lipid in the amount of 4-7% is also present in it. The essential fatty acids – linolenic acid and 13.6% Carbohydrates are also present.
Spirulina Protein VS Amino Acid (Animal Source and Soy Protein Source)
Spirulina contains more than 60% vegetable protein, which is much higher than Amino acid (Animal source). Animal source amino acids and Soy protein Hydrolysate is a much bigger molecule than Spirulina protein, and is much harder for plants to absorb and translocation. While the animal source is the least preferred, Spirulina Protein has shown much excellent results than the Soy Protein Hydrolysate.

Spirulina contains beta Carotenes (Vitamin A): (Role of Carotenes in Plants)
Carotenes are photosynthetic pigments important for photosynthesis. Carotenes contain no oxygen atoms. They absorb ultraviolet, violet, and blue light and scatter orange or red light, and (in low concentrations) yellow light. Carotenes are responsible for the orange colour of the carrot, for which this class of chemicals is named, and for the colours of many other fruits and vegetables (for example, sweet potatoes, chanterelle and orange cantaloupe melon). Carotenes contribute to photosynthesis by transmitting the light energy they absorb to chlorophyll. They also protect plant tissues by helping to absorb the energy from singlet oxygen, an excited form of the oxygen molecule O2 which is formed during photosynthesis.

Spirulina + Amino Acids (Growth & Fruiting Stages):
Studies have proved that amino acids can directly or indirectly influence the physiological activities in plant growth and development. Also, amino acids are well known as biostimulants, which have positive effects on plant growth, yield and signinicantly mitigate the injuries caused by abiotic stresses. The regulatory effect of amino acids on growth could be explained by the notion that some amino acids can affect plant growth and development through their inuence on gibberellins biosynthesis. Also, amino acids play an important role in plant metabolism and protein assimilation which are necessary for cell formation and consequently increasing fresh and dry mater. Amino acids can directly or indirectly influence
the physiological activities and the development of the plants. Amino acids enhance plant growth, yield and overall produce quality. Seaweed extract is known to improve seedlings vigour, promote growth and replenish nutrient defeciency. It can overcome nutrient stress in crop plants and minimize the use of expensive chemical fertilizers. Spirulina + Yeast Extract (Fruiting Stages):
It is known that yeast is considered as a natural source of cytokinins that stimulate cell division and enlargement as well as the synthesis of proteins, nucleic acids and chlorophyll. These are the most essential elements for increasing the fruit size, color and sugar content of the fruits. Foliar application of yeast extract stimulates growth and increases amino acid, auxin and cytokinin levels leading to increased vegetative growth of plants. Yeast contains various nutrients, higher level of proteins and vitamins, especially vitamin B which plays an important role in improving growth and controlling the incidence of fungal diseases.
Direction for Use:
After extensive trials of various formulations and concentration on various crops, Sunraysia has developed the best suited formulations and concentrations to provide optimum results at the prescribed dilution ratios.
Stimul8 is recommended to be applied @ of 50 ml / Acre in Vegetable Crops and 100 ml per acre in Horticulture crops.
The product is highly water soluble and can be applied through Foliar application as well as drip irrigation systems.
For Application through drip irrigation or drenching, apply @ of 100 ml / Acre in Vegetable Crops and 200 ml per acre in Horticulture crops.
